Need Help

This page is for detailing my current dilemma and obtaining technical support from Van's or any other willing party.

Ok this is the aft junction of F-450, which is located between the Firewall F-401 and the bottom (top jigged) of Bulkhead F-404. The angle piece appearts to be about 1/4" too long to accommodate the critical measure of 28 5/16 (it runs up against a rivet). Furthermore, it does not lay flat against the U-shaped piece that ties the forward and aft facing webs.

My question is simple, should the F-450 aluminum angle be trimmed short enough to avoid overlapping the forward facing web of bulkhead F-404. Or is it better to overlap.

You can tell by the second photo that a rivet is holding this angle away from the bottom web (top jigged). A followup question is the heigth of the F-450 angle. Is it supposed to be flush with the bottom web (top jigged) of F-404. At some point the skin follows F-451's and is no longer flush??
It seems that the angle should be trimmed such that it can be raised flush with the bottom web (top jigged) and lay flat against the U-shaped wing spar surround piece.  Finally, does this get rivetted with the skins or separately?

Thanks for any comments or insight.
